I am a permanent resident of Australia and lived there for several years until just before the Covid. I left Australia for personal reasons, and at the time, I didn’t have a clear plan for whether or when I would return. Over the past two years, my wife and I have discussed the situation, and we’ve finally decided to go back to Australia to stay and live there.
We began preparing our partner visa application in mid-last year. It took us about five months to gather all the necessary documents and application materials before we were ready to submit the visa application. Our case is still in progress, so I’m not sure how long the process will take or if any issues will arise along the way.
One challenging part of the application process was providing materials for the four key aspects to prove our relationship, as well as the “love story” component. For each aspect, the applicant must submit evidence. I searched extensively online, but I found there was not much helpful information available, especially for subclass 309 applicants. While the official website offers some guidance, it can still leave you with doubts. I would like to share my personal experience on how we prepared our application documents and provide updates on the progress of our case.
